So, I had lunch today with Kin, then we joined Anju and her friends at Universal Citywalk to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in IMAX. After the movie, we ate dinner at Buca di Beppo's.
People I Loved in OotP:
Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood
Alan Rickman as Severus Snape
Alec Hopkins as Young Severus Snape
Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange
Gary Oldman as Sirius Black
People I Hated in OotP:
Natalia Tena as Nymphadora Tonks
Bonnie Wright as Ginny Weasley
Katie Leung as Cho Chang
People I Loved to Hate in OotP:
Imelda Staunton as Dolores Umbridge
Fiona Shaw as Petunia Dursley
Richard Griffiths as Vernon Dursley
After watching OotP, I think the most "natural" het-pairing is Luna/Harry. Luna was prettier than I had imagined, but Lynch kept a sense of dreamy spaciness that represented Luna quite well without making her into a caricature.
While I liked this film, I still think that as a movie, not through the perspective of an adaptation of a book, the third film Prisoner of Azkaban was the best of the five. In its entirety, PoA had good timing, good physical blocking, and interesting segues into different moments. It also had very nice special effects, especially with the Marauders' Map and the Whomping Willow.

Singing and dancing pizza
Date: 2007-07-16 08:19 am (UTC)And Buca! Yummy! These days the only pasta we eat is what I cook - just had some for lunch! I so miss goat cheese, and pepper jack and ricotta! I miss making free from plum tarts with ricotta and honey. Sigh! Haven't wangled the parents round to home made pizza yet - will definitely try. Did a batch of the triple ginger double chocolate cookies which Mum has been merrily consuming. Remember those?
Say hi to Kin for me and, if you can, email me his contact info - I have a friend in northern Cali who is interested in getting anime and wants to know if Kin can supply by post if necessary.
Went on a shopping spree at a local supermarket - they had an offer of buy one get one free on books - got 18 books (nice Penguins at that) for the grand sum of RM54. Do the math it's US$ = RM3.5 right now! Wahooooooo!!!! Got some Unsworth, some Waugh, Bainbridge, Wyndham, Updike (although I don't really like Updike but it was Gertrude and Claudius, how could I resist?) and a pile of others! I love sales - book sales are the best!
Re: Singing and dancing pizza (?!)
Date: 2007-07-16 09:16 am (UTC)Yes, Buca was yummy! And since we had 14 people in our group (!) we each only paid $14 for a LOT of dishes!
I too did a batch of triple ginger double chocolate cookies -- however, that was for Christmas. I haven't made any since. Though recently I made chocolate-chip-banana cake and blueberry buttermilk muffins. The first to get rid of some overripe bananas I had, the last to get rid of some of the buttermilk left over from the recipe for the first.
No book-buying for me. No, I need to go the library and get some more resources. *sigh* I HATE research.
