Just a recent pet peeve from an English lit PhD who obsessively reads fanfic
Why is it that so many writers cannot distinguish between "taut", "taunt", and "taught"? It's "taut abdominal muscles", "the boy taunted the girl", and "I taught a class". Yet, I rarely see the correct "taut" to describe muscles, and I see all the other incorrect choices instead. Sigh.
